Announcement of the First Panel Discussion Topic

The theme for the First Panel Discussion of the “Kovalyov Readings” 2022 dedicated to the centenary of the Mitrofan Kovalyov will be “Legislative Technique in the History of Criminal Law”.

Questions of legal technique took a significant place in the works of Mitrofan Kovalev. His practical recommendations were considered by the Commission for the Reform of Criminal Law in Canada but still ignored by Russian legislators.

Why is that little attention paid to the issues of legislative technique in Criminal Law? Which Criminal Law in the history of Russia can be considered as a reference and why? These and many other issues will be discussed at the First Panel Discussion of the “Kovalyov Readings” 2022 on 18 February 2022.
